The Be Pink Fundraising Breakfast was at the Wayzata Country Club. This event was hosted by the Park Nicollet Jane Brattain Breast Center. In 1991, Jane Brattain and her husband, Don, donated money to Park Nicollet to purchase a state-of-the-art biopsy machine to detect breast cancer. When a routine screening mammogram revealed a suspicious lump in her breast, a biopsy was performed using the new machine and cancer was discovered in time for early intervention. More than 20 years later, Jane remains cancer-free and is an active in Park Nicollet Jane Brattain Breast Center activities and events like the Be Pink Fundraiser. The “Be Pink: Be Proactive, Be Aware, Be Empowered” slogan is to encourage women to be empowered during their fight with breast cancer by promoting the importance of early detection and supporting education, outreach, and annual screening mammograms for women.
The Be Pink Fundraising Breakfast is meant to raise awareness for breast cancer and to celebrate the community helping local women receive screening mammograms and diagnostic services. 100% of the proceeds go directly to programs to help local women in need. It was such an honor to be a part of this event in September and listen to the stories of many breast cancer survivors. Thank you to Do Good Events for planning this wonderful event!
