Clyde Iron Works Wedding, Taylor + Joe

Congratulations, Taylor and Joe! These two had their wedding at Clyde Iron Works in Duluth, MN! These two met at the University of Minnesota Duluth. Between working together as resident advisors in the dorms and having biology classes together, they ended up spending a lot of time studying, planning programs for their residents, and playing Mario Kart. They became good friends and started dating in December of 2013. Fast forward to one Sunday morning after church (also the day after Valentine’s Day), Joe and Taylor decided to go to Joe’s house and make breakfast. On the way there, Joe realized he was out of eggs and syrup. He dropped Taylor off at his house so she could work on homework while Joe went to the store. Joe was taking a suspiciously long time to return and when he did, he said he had to go to three different stores for eggs (which Taylor later discovered he was actually trying to find roses). They made pancakes and then planned on spending the rest of the day working on a paper for a class they shared. Joe suggested that they take a break from writing their papers and go for a drive with Dakota, Joe’s dog. They went to Hawk’s Ridge, a favorite spot where they enjoy watching the sunset or sunrise. Joe pulled out a rose that was tucked between his seat and the car door. He gave Taylor the rose and shared one of his favorite memories of the two of them at Hawk’s Ridge. They continued to drive and made a few more stops. At each stop, Joe shared a memory of them and gave her a rose. Taylor thought it was a belated Valentine’s Day surprise and didn’t suspect anything when they arrived at the last stop. Since they had Dakota with, Joe suggested that they go out of the car. They were at Lake Superior. While Taylor was looking out at the lake, Joe came up from behind and tapped her arm. As Taylor recalls: “When I turned around, he was on one knee with a rose in one hand and a ring box in the other. He told me this spot would hold his new favorite memory of us and asked me to marry him.” When planning the wedding, Taylor and Joe knew they wanted to get married in Duluth since that’s where they met and that’s where their memories are. When they toured Clyde Iron Works, they loved that character and history of the venue. A unique part of their day is that instead of a traditional wedding cake, the couple decided to have donuts instead! As Taylor puts it, “We just really like donuts!” For their wedding, they wanted to capture some of Duluth’s beauty by making their centerpieces out of Lake Superior’s driftwood and Joe collected wood to build an arbor for the ceremony. Another special detail about the day is that Joe used a handkerchief that was passed down from his grandfather to his dad, and now from his dad to him. These two cannot wait to have all of their loved ones in the same place. Taylor adds: “We hope our day can be an example of what it looks like to have a Christ-centered relationship. We also really wanted to create an event to bring our friends and family together in one place to enjoy a joyous occasion.” Duluth wedding, Clyde Iron Works, wedding gown, wedding dress, flowers, bridal bouquet, shoesWedding gown, bridal bouquet, flowers, floral, wedding dress, Duluth wedding, spring wedding, spring flowers, Clyde Iron Worksbridal bouquet, flowers, rings, ring shot, wedding, wedding photos, Duluth wedding, Clyde Iron Worksbride, wedding gown, getting ready, wedding, Duluth wedding, Clyde Iron Worksbride, getting ready, wedding, bridesmaids, Duluth wedding, Clyde Iron Works, MInnesota weddingBride, window, bridal portraits, spring wedding, indoor wedding, Duluth wedding, Clyde Iron Worksbride, bridal bouquet, wedding, wedding dress, wedding gown, veil, spring flowers, spring wedding, Duluth wedding, Minnesota wedding, bridal hair, bridal makeup, Clyde Iron Worksfirst look with dad, bride, father of the bride, wedding memories, Clyde Iron Works, Duluth weddingwedding, Duluth wedding, Clyde Iron Works, wedding moments, wedding memories, father of the bride, bride, first look with dadClyde Iron Works, groom, boutonniere, gray suit, Duluth weddingfirst look, bride, groom, wedding, wedding photos, wedding memories, CLyde Iron Works, Duluth wedding, spring weddingfirst look, Duluth wedding, Clyde Iron Works, bride, groom, gray suit, boutonniere, bride, wedding dress, wedding day, wedding memoriesDuluth wedding, Clyde Iron Works, Minnesota wedding, bride, groom, first lookBride and groom, bride, groom, wedding, bridal bouquet, window, boutonniere, gray suit, wedding dress, spring wedding, Clyde iron Worksbride, groom, wedding portraits, wedding poses, Clyde Iron Works, Duluth wedding, spring wedding, veil, wedding gowngroom, groomsmen, spring wedding, gray suits, boutonnieres, spring flowers, wedding portraits, Clyde Iron Worksbridesmaids, pink bridesmaids dresses, bride, wedding gown, wedding dress, spring wedding, Duluth wedding, Clyde Iron Worksbridal party, Duluth wedding, bride, groom, bridesmaids, groomsmen, wedding photos, Clyde Iron WorksWedding ceremony, bride, groom, wedding, Clyde Iron Works, Duluth wedding, groom, wedding memoriesgroom, bride, wedding wedding ceremony, Clyde Iron Works, Duluth wedding, groom, bride, father of the bride, walk down aisle, wedding memoriesbride, father of the bride, wedding, wedding ceremony, Duluth wedding, Clyde Iron WorksClyde Iron Works, Duluth wedding, groom, wedding ceremony, wedding moments, gray suit, boutonniereClyde iron Works, Duluth wedding, indoor wedding, spring wedding, wedding decor, wedding backdrop, weddi
